I have my Lola.

She arrived in the post today and she’s even lovelier than I expected.

The quality surpasses my expectations.

I’m in love.

I have a weakness for designer labels. From the first Burberry mac I owned to that Celine top I stumbled upon for Amara’s Closet, quality and attention to detail get me every time.

For a frugal fashionista you’d be mistaken to think I even know where my nearest Primark is. I don’t. Nor do I plan to. I like a good bargain but not at the cost of others. I also appreciate that “The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.” (Ben Franklin 1706-1790).

Value for money is where it’s at! Think ‘more bang for your buck’… and now we’re on the same wave length.

I have that same Burberry mac I bought over 8 years ago.

I roll it out whenever the weather looks a little sketchy. It makes quite an impact with my LV Deauville (also owned for over 8 years and used daily).

Love you long time…

I now plan to add my Lola to my list of capsule faves.

Lola 2

I have already indulged in a few reveries of me looking effortlessly cool Mac, Deauville and Lola combined.

Mmmmmm.

In July’s issue of 72M I interviewed the design house behind the Lola Échapeau, L for Lazarus.

Creative Director, Nicolette Lazarus, passed up the offer of a senior post in an advertising company, having worked in the advertising industry for 20 years, to follow an unexplored love for personal style and wearable innovation. Selfishly enough I’m very happy that she did. The result is the Fall/Winter 2012 collection which has ‘future classic’ written all over it.

See for yourself.

L for Lazarus have also launched a crowd funding bid to help “breathe life” into the 2012 Fall/Winter collection.

You can contribute from as little as $10 for a heartfelt ‘thank you’ or from $45.00 you can claim items from the 2012 collection; starting from the Lakia wallet ($45) and rising to $700 for the whole collection, or even designing your own leather bag  for $1000!

I have my Lola.

I love my Lola.

Suddenly the persistent UK rain doesn’t seem so horrible.

I trust my Lola will accompany my Mac and Deauville through anything the British weather has to throw at me.

Go and get yours, I know you’ll fall in love too.
