Eat chocolate cake and save money.
That’s a headline that’s likely to get a lot of attention. Maybe not true in the strictest sense but not too far from it.
If you like a good pud it’s likely you’ve heard of Gü ®
Their puds are little pots of heaven.
Their glass ramekins are also excellent if you love entertaining. Admittedly I’ve developed a bit of a taste for Gü ® but I’ve convinced myself that there’s a perfectly legitimate reason for this.
I like to dabble in a bit of cooking now and then, and presentation, sometimes, is the cherry on the top. Gü ® puddings are around £3.00 for a set of two from most supermarkets, but if you’re as frugal as I am you’ll wait for the ‘buy one get one free’ offers that result in 4 puds, 4 quality glass ramekins, for around £3.00. That’s 75 pence a ramekin, with a tasty cheesecake thrown in for good measure.
A bargain, considering quality ramekins can cost upwards of £19.00 for six.
Ouch.

£19.99 for a set of six
I’m not suggesting you gorge on Gü ® but if you’re planning to invest in a set of ramekins to compliment your dinnerware you can’t go amiss with the glass and, best of all, you can sample a range tasty treats indulging in the pretense of research! I’ve collected 16 ramekins… all in the name of research of course…
…and now some excellent and yummy recipes for your mighty Ramekins;
